Once again, City Court Judge C. Britain Sledge III is offering residents of the 7th Ward an opportunity to get a fresh start this year.
The Court’s annual Amnesty Program affords citizens with outstanding warrants an opportunity to address those old charges without fear of arrest.
Continuing from now through March 31, 2025, the Court will hold a forgiveness program for individuals with outstanding warrants. All individuals with warrants are encouraged to take advantage of this amnesty program. Sledge said that this amnesty is available for all residents, no matter the reason for their outstanding charges.
Payments of fines and court costs can be made by cash, money order, cashier’s check, and debit/credit cards between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. No personal checks will be accepted.
Sledge said even if someone cannot completely pay their fines and court costs prior to the end of the amnesty period, the Court will create a plan to address your outstanding warrants.
