The Harbor Center Board of Commissioners announced the retirement of General Manager Kathy Lowrey and the appointment of Victoria Paz as the new General Manager, effective January 2025.
Kathy will continue to serve as General Manager through March 2025, ensuring a smooth transition as Victoria takes the reins of the facility.
Kathy Lowrey’s dedication to The Harbor Center spans nearly two decades, beginning before the facility even opened its doors in May 2005. Kathy joined as Sales and Marketing Manager and played a pivotal role in the success of the center, securing vital contracts after Hurricane Katrina’s devastation and establishing a steady revenue stream. In 2007, Kathy was promoted to General Manager, where she was the driving force behind the growth and continued success of the center. Kathy’s commitment to excellence, customer satisfaction, and problem-solving has shaped The Harbor Center into a premier venue for hosting events, conferences, and more. Most recently, Kathy oversaw the completion of a 9,000-square-foot expansion, a project that was part of the building’s original plans nearly 20 years ago. This expansion stands as a testament to Kathy’s vision and dedication to the center’s continued growth. As she prepares to leave her role, this lasting achievement serves as her final impression—a reflection of her unwavering commitment to ensuring The Harbor Center’s success well into the future, even after her departure.

Victoria Paz, a longtime resident of Slidell, brings a wealth of experience and community involvement to her new role as General Manager. Victoria currently serves as the Director of Sales & Marketing at Silver Slipper Casino Hotel, where she has worked for nearly 16 years, starting as a Retail Clerk in 2009 and advancing through various leadership positions, including Advertising & Publicity Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing.
