
On December 9, the Covington Police Department arrested Christian Turgeau, a teacher, for inappropriate contact with a juvenile student.
The incident occurred at Pine View Middle School.
The student reported the incident to the school’s administration, who then contacted the Covington Police Department. Detectives initiated an investigation and subsequently obtained an arrest warrant for Turgeau for one count of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile, a felony.
STPPS Superintendent Frank Jabbia said they hold employees to the highest standards and will not tolerate any type of inappropriate behavior with students. He added that he commended the student for their courage in reporting this incident and he was grateful for the quick and thorough response of the Covington Police Department.
Turgeau was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Covington Police Department at 985 892-8500.
