The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) has arrested a suspect in a homicide that occurred in Hammond Wednesday afternoon.
35 YO Johnathan Blackwell was taken into custody for 2nd Degree Murder.
Around 2 p.m., TPSO was called to a mobile home in the 41000 block of W I-55 Service Road for a shooting. When deputies arrived, a man was found dead inside.
Detectives quickly learned the shooting was the result of an argument between the deceased, who has not yet been identified, and Blackwell. Shortly after, Blackwell was taken into custody.
Sheriff Gerald Sticker offers his thanks to the community for their cooperation in this case which led to its quick closure.
