In February 2024, Louisiana State Police Troop NOLA was alerted to a growing public safety issue involving the use of off-road vehicles, specifically All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), on the highways and roadways of New Orleans.
Individuals engaged in these criminal activities demonstrated a blatant disregard for the safety of others and consistently violated multiple statutes while creating an atmosphere of lawlessness. These activities were often linked to other crimes throughout the city.
Troopers investigated the ongoing ATV activity and uncovered videos posted on YouTube titled “SUNDAY FUNDAY IN NEW ORLEANS #BIKELIFE.” Upon reviewing these videos, Troopers observed ATV riders blatantly violating numerous laws and demonstrating a blatant disregard for public safety.
Through investigative efforts, Troopers determined that the crimes were committed in May of 2023 within the City of New Orleans.
The video footage identified three primary suspects. Following the identification of the suspects, Troopers were able to secure arrest warrants and search warrants for residences in St. Bernard Parish, St. James Parish, and East Baton Rouge Parish. The warrants were executed on May 20, 2024. During the search, detectives discovered significant evidence linking the suspects to the criminal activities, including 5 ATVs. Detectives also located multiple firearms, which are undergoing testing as part of the continued investigation.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of the three identified suspects: 27 YO Ken J. Tureaud Jr. of Convent; 21 YO Marjoe S. Holmes Jr. of Zachary, and 22 YO Luke J. Campo of Saint Bernard.
