Detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Narcotics and Proactive Enforcement Units conducted multiple investigations in reference to illegal activity occurring in Slidell hotels.
On Monday (May 6), detectives initiated a proactive enforcement effort in these areas in order to combat the problem.
In total, detectives made more than 30 traffic stops and came into contact with more than 50 citizens. This resulted in the issuance of traffic citations, the arrest of criminal offenders and the seizure of illegal narcotics.
During one of the traffic stops on Gause Boulevard, inside the city limits of Slidell, detectives found 50 YO Pearl River resident Bobbi Jean Zoller in possession of approximately 6 grams of crack cocaine, 1.5 grams of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. Zoller was driving the vehicle without her license and attempted to conceal the crack cocaine from detectives. Zoller was placed under arrest and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center.
Detectives also approached two pedestrians who were observed visiting multiple hotels inside the Slidell city limits and discovered that both were members of a violent, Chicago-based criminal street gang, the Gangster Disciples. One of the subjects provided a false identity to detectives but was ultimately identified as 29 YO Meridian resident Mondrick Martin. After positively identifying Martin, further investigation revealed he was a fugitive from the Mississippi Department of Corrections and was wanted for illegal firearm possession.
Another traffic stop in the parking lot of a business located in the city limits of Slidell resulted in the arrests of two Mississippi residents identified as 48 YO Aaron Newell and 24 YO Olympia Elchos. The arrests came after 3 grams of marijuana and 3 grams of methamphetamine were discovered in the vehicle.
