
Southeastern Louisiana University Laboratory School student Eliza Kate Cowser has been named the Tangipahoa Parish School System Eighth Grade Student of the Year.
A resident of Hammond, Cowser will advance to the regional competition with the selected students of the year from Ascension Central Community Schools, City of Bogalusa Schools, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, LSU University Laboratory School, Livingston, Washington, and Zachary Community Schools.
An active student in several extra-curricular activities, Cowser excels in and out of the classroom, according to Lab School Director Stephen Labbe, calling her a great student who works hard at everything she does.
