State Fire Marshal deputies have been called to investigate a fatal fire in Mt. Hermon.
Around 11 p.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 9, Washington Parish Fire District #9 responded to the 38000 block of Bill Simmons Road in Mt. Hermon. Firefighters arrived to find one injured victim outside reporting that another resident was still inside. Unfortunately, the body of an elderly man was later located in the home.
The surviving victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
This investigation is ongoing. More information will be released as it becomes available.
