A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the $50 million taxiway extension project at Armstrong International Airport.
The Taxiway Golf extension was funded by the FAA’s Airport Improvement Program and is a collaboration between the city, the FAA and MSY.
The project focuses on enhancing public safety, reducing conflicts and optimizing taxiway occupancy.
By extending Taxiway Golf 1,500 feet to the west, the need for aircraft to cross runways is minimized, resulting in increased safety and improved operational efficiency.
