The Hammond Police Department Narcotics Division opened a criminal investigation after receiving information that illegal narcotics were being distributed from a residence on Magazine Street.
During the course of the investigation, the HPD Narcotics Division obtained arrest warrants for 36 YO Brent Blount and 61 YO Frank Legard, both of Hammond.
HPD detectives also secured a search warrant for the residence.
On October 16, 2023, the HPD Narcotics Division, the HPD Special Response Team, and the Drug Enforcement Agency conducted the search warrant of the residence. Both subjects were taken into custody without incident and booked accordingly.
The following items were recovered from the residence: Kel Tec Handgun, Savage Arms Shotgun, suspected heroin, suspected marijuana, suspected synthetic marijuana, and more.
Brent Blount is currently on parole for possession with intent to distribute illegal narcotics, illegal carrying of weapon in the presence of CDS, and convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
