The St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office obtained a warrant for the arrest of a man in connection with the death of Billie Ann Blakley.
The Sheriff’s Office secured a warrant for the arrest of Blakley’s boyfriend, Vernon Kenneth Lee (DOB 1/15/1964), for second-degree murder.
During the course of the investigation into Blakley’s death, detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit traveled out of state to North Carolina and Alabama on two occasions and spent countless hours in the New Orleans area seeking information. After that, it was determined that Lee was responsible for the death. Detectives applied for and obtained a warrant from the Twenty Second Judicial District Court Monday (July 24) afternoon.
Lee, whose legal address is out of North Carolina, is a transient known to stay with Blakley in the Slidell area and was incarcerated in the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on unrelated domestic violence charges.
