Bogalusa Mayor Turin Z. Truong is squaring off against former Mayor Wendy O’Quinn Perrette.
The current mayor says the city is defending itself against a public records request lawsuit brought by the former mayor seeking up to $122,000, instead of the $5,500 in fees awarded to her.
Truong said his administration has been intentionally bombarded with public records request since taking office by previous administration members, led by the former mayor. He said Bogalusa has a full time employee dedicated strictly to public records, and called it something that is not normal for a city their size.
The mayor said the more time that they have to spend defending lawsuits, the less time they have to work on the issues that matter to real Bogalusans.
