The City of Hammond says a new playground is coming.
After completing renovations to the Old Basketball Pavilion, earlier this week the city began construction of a new covered playground in Mooney Avenue Park.
Installation of new playground equipment, including the city’s first wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round, should be completed soon.
When the caution tape and barricades come down, citizens will know the playground is safe to play on.
