Tuesday (May 9) morning, members of the St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office and first responders from all over St Tammany Parish will be participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Louisiana 2023.
Beginning at 9:30 a.m., participants will carry the torch from Altitude in Mandeville to Paul D. Cordes Park (located behind Mandeville City Hall.)
The runners will be traveling up E. Approach as Guardians of the Flame.
The St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office raises money for the Special Olympics through registration fees in the torch run, T-shirt sales and employee dress down days.
Sheriff Randy Smith would like to extend an invitation to the public to cheer on the first responders as they run in support of Special Olympics.
