Northshore Humane Society located on Harrison Ave. in Covington invites children ages 6 – 13 to spend a week celebrating companion animals through their 2023 “Camp Paw-Looza” summer camps.
Sponsored by Hancock Whitney, children will engage in fun interactive games and activities, meet animal experts and ambassadors, and put their compassion into action through service projects that benefit the shelter’s homeless animals.
This year’s theme, Camp Paw-Looza, will also bring music and fun to campers all week long. Children will symbolically adopt a shelter pet and be given an opportunity to interact with homeless dogs and cats on-site at the rescue. NHS summer camp programs foster a sense of responsibility and respect for animals through inquiry and experienced-based learning.
Camp weeks run from the end of May through the beginning of August. Camp is Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Before and after care are available for an additional charge. T-shirts are also available for purchase through their registration page. And remember, as a non-profit organization that does not receive any taxpayer funding, all proceeds from this camp have a direct, positive impact on the care of homeless animals in our community.
