The Hammond Downtown Development District is thrilled to announce that the Hammond Farmers Market is moving to Railroad Park.
The official grand reopening will kick off the DDD’s 17th Annual Starry November Day & Night on Saturday, November 19th from 8:00 AM to Noon.
Since August 2021, the market has temporarily operated on the property of the Old Hammond Feed & Seed store during the construction of Railroad Park.
To accommodate all active vendors and programming partners, the 100 block of NW Railroad Ave (between the post office and park) will be closed every Saturday between 6 AM and 1 PM. Parallel parking on NW Railroad Ave will be closed on Saturdays from 5 AM-1 PM. Closures are effective starting Saturday, November 19, 2022.
Now known as the ‘Hammond Farmers and Artisans Market’, this new name better aligns with its established mission, reflecting a marketplace that features farmers and makers producing high-quality goods for the community. Local farmers and consumer access to locally-produced food in Tangipahoa Parish and surrounding areas will always remain a core market value.
