
St. Tammany Parish Library has partnered with local fire departments and fire districts during the month of October, which is Fire Prevention Month, to bring residents Fire Safety Table Talks from 4p.m. – 6p.m. in four large branch locations.
Firefighters will be on-hand to answer questions about fire prevention and safety.
The dates and locations are as follows: Covington Branch, 310 W 21st Ave.: October 12th – Covington Fire Department, Madisonville Branch, 1123 Main St.: October 13th – St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 2 – Madisonville Fire, Slidell Branch, 555 Robert Boulevard: October 20th – St. Tammany Fire Protection District #1 – Slidell Fire, Mandeville Branch, 844 Girod Street: October 26th – St. Tammany Fire Protection District #4 – Mandeville Fire.
This is your opportunity to meet local firefighters and discuss with these trained fire prevention professionals about Fire Safety and Fire Prevention in and around your home.
This program covers: How to properly install and test your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector; How to use a fire extinguisher and when it should be replaced/recharged; How to safely operate a power generator; and any questions you have that relates to fire safety and/or fire prevention.
These events are free and open to the public.
