The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office concluded its investigation into a potential threat against Ponchatoula High School.
The initial report indicated a student made a threat via social media to shoot other students at PHS; however, that report has been determined to be noncredible by conducting an intensive digital forensics analysis.
As a measure of precaution, TPSO said they would be vigilant at all schools within Tangipahoa Parish; however TPSO said they do not have a reason to believe a specific or credible threat exists against any school within the Parish.
Chief Jimmy Travis said the incident began late Tuesday when TPSO received calls regarding a social media threat to the safety of students at Ponchatoula High School.
