St. Tammany Sheriff’s detectives seized a large cache of fentanyl during an operation that took place this week in Covington.
Tuesday (September 27) evening, with the assistance of Homeland Security Investigations, detectives with the St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation, which resulted in the arrest of a 24 YO male Mexican national. He was transporting five kilograms (approximately 11 pounds) of fentanyl at the time of his arrest.
The arrest and seizure took place in the parking lot of a Covington-area hotel.
Fermin Ortega Rodriguez (D.O.B. 7/26/1998) was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center.
