
The 2022-2023 season of the Third Sunday Concerts at Christ Episcopal Church Covington will continue Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, with “Villains of the Stage,” featuring mezzo-soprano Lindsey Ware-Burkett and baritone Damian Faul, accompanied by pianist Nathan Sumrall.
The concert will include “villainous” selections from “Into the Woods,” “Les Misérables,” “Sweeney Todd,” “Pippin,” “Pirates of Penzance,” and “Annie Get Your Gun.”
Ware-Burkett holds degrees in vocal performance from LSU and Loyola University New Orleans. She also is director of the choral department at Mandeville High School, music director at St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church, a cantor at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, and a choir member at Temple Sinai Reform Congregation in New Orleans.
Faul lived and performed in New York City after receiving a master’s degree in voice performance from Florida State University. He has worked with notable composers Carlisle Floyd and Ricky Ian Gordon. Locally, Faul’s performances include the role of Shakespeare in the musical “Something Rotten” produced by the CLAPS program based at Covington High School.
Sumrall has a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from William Carey University and master’s degrees in piano performance and collaborative arts and music education with a choral emphasis from Syracuse University. He currently performs locally and regionally and maintains a private piano and vocal studio in Slidell and at his home in Abita Springs. He also is director of discipleship and worship arts at First United Methodist Church of Slidell.
