
The Hammond Police Department opened a criminal investigation after receiving information that a self-storage unit was being used to store illegal narcotics.
During the course of the investigation, HPD Narcotics Unit submitted for a search warrant on the storage unit.
On September 6, 2022, after obtaining the search warrant it, HPD found over 200 grams of Oxycodone, over 1 pound of Marijuana, $16,312 in cash, and other unspecified prescription drugs.
The tenant of the storage unit, 20 YO Logan West of Hammond, was on scene during the search and acknowledged to investigators that she knew the illegal drugs were in the storage unit and also implicated her boyfriend, 23 YO Charles Anderson of Hammond.
Both were charged with 9 counts of Possession of Schedule II with Intent to Distribute and 1 count of Possession of Schedule I with Intent to Distribute.
