The New Orleans City Council expressed concerns over a new survey showing the average response time for an NOPD officer to respond to a 911 call is over two hours.
Community members say officers are not showing up at all, which concerns them.
According to the survey, an average caller in New Orleans will wait 150 minutes for police to arrive after a 911 call. Places like New York City, San Francisco and Cincinnati all have lower response times in comparison.
Wait times are so long in New Orleans, that sometimes the victim is no longer at the scene.
The new data also shows that NOPD does not have enough resources to cover calls.
