
The Hammond Police Department has made three arrests in the drive-by shooting that occurred on April 4, at the corner of West Church Street and Pecan Street.
25 YO Tysheen Kelly, 21 YO Jamichael Edwards, and 21 YO Dejon Warner, all of Hammond, have all been taken into custody and booked on charges related to the shooting. Warner was also charged with the gang prohibition statute.
19 YO Geralcoe Toney of Robert, and 19 YO Lydell Griffin of Hammond, were still at large as of last night and wanted for charges of Aggravated Assault by Drive-by Shooting, Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, and Obstruction of Justice. Griffin is also wanted for Gang Prohibition.
Over the past three months, the Hammond Police Department’s Gang Unit has made over 30 arrests of known gang members. This new unit is having an immediate impact on crime in our city. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
