Covington Police announced this week that the city has already seen an increase in juvenile curfew violations since the summer has begun.
Normally there is nothing good that happens in the middle of the night, and there is no reason for juveniles to be wandering the streets during the late-night hours.
Covington Police says they will increase their juvenile curfew enforcement.
According to the City of Covington Ordinance Sec 66-112, any person under the age of 17 years of age and younger must follow the following curfew hours: Sunday – Thursday: 11:00 PM – 5:00 AM, Friday – Saturday: 12:01 AM – 5:00 AM.
Any juvenile found in violation of this ordinance may be relocated to the Covington Police Department, where we will contact the guardian of the juvenile. Once the guardian arrives to pick up their child, they may cite that guardian for violation of this ordinance.
