Melissa Henry, the St. Tammany Clerk of Court, is speaking out after her husband was arrested and charged with contractor fraud.
According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, John Michael “Mike” Strate, Henry’s husband, was arrested and booked as a fugitive on Thursday.
Henry released a statement that said his alleged misconduct as a contractor involved the 2016 flood in Livingston Parish. She said they have been happily married for 28 years but keep their financial interests separate. And Henry said she hopes there are no political motivations behind this event, as she is facing re-election next year.
