
Children’s Advocacy Center – Hope House, an independent nonprofit dedicated to ending the cycle of child abuse on the Northshore, will honor seven local “Champions” at the inaugural Champions for Children Breakfast on Wednesday, April 27 from 7:30-9:30 AM at Fleur De Lis Event Center in Mandeville.
Nominated by members of the community, these seven award winners are everyday heroes making an impact in the lives of children and families on the Northshore.
This year’s Champions for Children award winners includes: Debra Peters, Community Leader, Staci Schwittay, Licensed Realtor; Director of Operations for James Samaritan, Dr. Katherine Williams, Center for Women’s Health, Captain David Miller, Bogalusa Police Department, Sgt. Jeremy Bertucci, Slidell Police Department, Daniel O’Sullivan, Special Education Teacher (Posthumous Award), and Aubrey Wallace, Madisonville Junior High School Student (Youth Champion).
The breakfast will feature remarks from Hope House Executive Director Thomas Mitchell; keynote speaker Brian Brown, Supervisory Special Agent of the CyberCrimes Unit with the LA Bureau of Investigation; and several survivors.
