Bogalusa rapper JayDaYoungan is facing the possibility of a five-year sentence in federal prison after being indicted by a grand jury Friday on a weapons charge in U.S. District Court.
The performer, whose legal name is Javarious Scott, was allegedly caught with a 9mm handgun received from another state during an Oct. 29 traffic stop in his hometown.
Scott, 23, was not permitted to receive a firearm while already under indictment in Harris County, Texas, where he faces state charges of illegal possession of Oxycodone and assault on a pregnant woman.
If convicted of the charge, Scott faces a federal prison sentence of up to five years.
