The St Tammany School System says beginning Thursday, October 28, masks are highly recommended but not required in STPPS schools and buildings.
The St. Tammany School Board unanimously voted to pass a resolution to drop the indoor mask mandate on its school campuses.
To comply with Gov. John Bel Edward’s executive order, the school system will have to follow CDC guidelines on quarantines to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Masks will continue to be required for students and adults on school buses as mandated by federal law.
The district will continue with safety protocols, monitor COVID-19 cases, adjust guidelines and protocols as needed, and follow local and national guidance.
They said more information can be found on their website at www.stpsb.org/coronavirus.
