The St Tammany Chamber says that this week they held meeting with mayors from four municipalities to discuss quality of life in St. Tammany.
As both the fourth largest and fourth fastest-growing parish in the state, Chamber officials say we are dependent on courageous and collaborative leadership to maintain our quality of life. The Chamber says it is evident that the excellent public schools and low crime rates are two of the top reasons for continued growth and we must work together to keep it that way.
The Chamber reminds its members that early voting for the November 13 election begins this Saturday. Delayed by one month due to Hurricane Ida impacts, there has not been much news regarding the new .4 cent sales tax needed to fund the criminal justice system. You can go to www.keepsttammanysafe.org for a 10-minute explanation of the need for the .4 cent sales tax.
Also on the ballot are four constitutional amendments and four school board millage renewals.
The Chamber’s Advocacy & Public Policy Committee and Board of Directors encourage a “yes” vote across the ballot.
