
The 2021 Hammond Northshore Regional Airshow said they are honored to have been selected by the U.S. Navy to host a very special demonstration for this year’s event.
The Navy’s F/A-18F Super Hornet, flown by Lt. Joe “Jamboy” Kirksey, will take to the skies over the Hammond Northshore Regional Airport on Saturday, October 16th and Sunday, October 17th.

Lt. Kirksey is a native of Thousand Oaks, CA and a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical science. In February of 2015, Lt. Kirksey obtained his wings of gold at NAS Meridian. He then went on to serve in VFA-97 Warhawks from 2016 to 2019, executing two deployments in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Inherent Resolve.
Lt. Kirksey currently serves as an instructor with VFA-122 Flying Eagles, training the next generation of Naval Aviators in all tactics of the F/A-18 Super Hornet.
