Authorities continue to search for a man who is presumed dead following what was called an alligator attack in Slidell.
The St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office says it received a call Monday from a woman who said her 71-year-old husband was attacked and apparently killed by an alligator while walking in flood waters following Hurricane Ida.
The sheriff’s office Special Operation Division, along with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries have been unable to find the man.
On Wednesday, crews were joined by a representative with Louisiana Search and Rescue and a K-9 trained in tracking scents.
The Sheriff’s Office also shared a Facebook post from residents in the Avery Estates area who said they spotted an alligator at a nearby home.
