St Tammany Government says their efforts to enhance coastal protection and restoration continue.
They said the installation of an artificial reef at Goose Point is now underway. The reef will protect the Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge from the effects of storm surge while also creating a new habitat for fish and wildlife.
The reef will be constructed of broken concrete from local highway projects.
STG said thank you to CCA Louisiana, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Chevron and GIS Engineering, LLC for making this project a reality.
