
On May 12, at approximately 2:48 am, the Hammond Police Department responded to a shooting in the parking lot of The Soap Opera of Hammond, located at 1001 North Morrison Boulevard.
Upon arrival, officers located three victims, Bradley Blunt, 23 years old of Hammond, Raleign Honor, 22 years old of Tickfaw, and a two-year-old juvenile. All three were transported by Acadian Ambulance to North Oaks Medical Center, where Blunt succumbed to his injuries. Honor and the juvenile’s injuries were non-life-threatening.
The suspected shooter, Janvourian Franklin, 23 years old of Hammond, was taken into custody as he arrived at North Oaks Medical Center for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Franklin was arrested upon his discharge from the hospital and booked on 1 count of First Degree Murder, 3 counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, and Illegal Discharge of a Firearm. Additional investigation led to the arrest of Franklin’s sister, Demetriane Anderson, 20 years old of Hammond. Anderson was charged with 1 count of Principal to First Degree Murder and 3 counts of Principal to Attempted First Degree Murder.
