
An anonymous tip led to an arrest in a Livingston Hit and Run.
Troopers were notified that the pedestrian, 20-year-old Jody Mann of Greenwell Springs, succumbed to her injuries sustained in the hit-and-run crash on March 29. As a result, an arrest warrant was obtained through the 21st Judicial District Court. Brandon Chenevert was subsequently arrested and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center for Negligent Homicide.
This crash remains under investigation.
Troopers had arrested 30-year-old Brandon Chenevert of Denham Springs in connection with the hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian severely injured. On March 29 just before 9:00 p.m., State Police Troop A responded to a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian on LA 1023, south of LA 63. The investigation revealed that a vehicle, possibly a Toyota, struck the pedestrian and fled north on LA 1023. On April 1, Troopers received two anonymous tips identifying Chenevert as the driver. A search warrant was executed, leading to the discovery of the suspect vehicle and damaged parts. Narcotics and firearms were also found on the property. Chenevert was arrested and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center for the following charges; Felony Hit and Run, Negligent Injuring, Obstruction of Justice, Failure to Seek Assistance, Possession of Schedule I with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Schedule III, Possession of Firearm in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
