On Wednesday, December 25, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office contacted the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office about an active investigation involving 28-year-old Alexander Materne and a 14-year-old missing female from Tennessee.
St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives learned that the 14-year-old female from Tennessee met Materne while playing an online game, and arrangements were made for Materne to drive to TN to pick up the female so she could stay with him.
On December 23, 2024, Materne picked up the female from her residence in TN and brought her to his residence in St. Rose, LA, where they allegedly engaged in sexual acts. The female then allegedly disclosed her age to Materne.
After some time, Materne and the female left the location in St. Rose. He bought the female a tent, food, and water and dropped her off in a wooded area in Tangipahoa Parish. Materne then went to Jennings, LA, to celebrate Christmas with his family. The female’s family learned about Materne’s ties to Jennings and contacted them to check for Materne and the female. Materne was located at a family member’s residence in Jennings. When asked about the female, he agreed to show detectives where he dropped off the female in Tangipahoa Parish. Detectives located the female in the woods, who was in good health. She was transported to a hospital to be evaluated.
Materne was taken into custody in Tangipahoa Parish and booked on one count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile and one count of Aggravated Kidnapping of a Child. St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives secured arrest warrants for Materne for Human Trafficking (Felony) and Carnal Knowledge (Felony).
Materne will be booked into the St. Charles Parish Nelson Coleman Correctional Center.
