The Hammond Rotary Club is excited to announce that this year’s annual Christmas Parade, scheduled for December 7th, will feature Guy Recotta, a beloved community figure, as the Grand Marshal.
This festive event will bring holiday cheer to the streets of Hammond, starting at 6:00 pm and promises to delight audiences of all ages with its vibrant displays, music, and community spirit.
The parade’s title sponsor, Hammond Northshore Regional Airshow, chose a fitting theme for this year, “Flying Through a Winter Wonderland,” and attendees can look forward to a lively array of decorated floats, marching bands, dance groups and of course, a special appearance from Santa Claus himself.
The parade route will roll from Strawberry Stadium’s parking lot reaching downtown providing ample viewing spots for spectators. Guy Recotta, Clerk of Hammond City Court, is known throughout Hammond and Tangipahoa Parish for his community involvement, and volunteerism. He will lead the parade in style, riding a beautifully decorated vehicle and waving to the crowd in the true spirit of the season. Amber Narro and Joe Burns will narrate the parade as floats, vehicles, walking groups and bands roll by the judging stand on the corner of Magnolia and Thomas Streets.
The parade is organized by the Hammond Rotary Club, with the support of local businesses and volunteers. The event is free and open to the public, making it a perfect outing for families and friends to celebrate the most anticipated holiday event in Hammond!
