
Sheriff Gerald Sticker is inviting the parish’s senior citizens community and caregivers to a series of FREE and FUN informative workshops on safety, emergency information, health and community concerns.
The “Ain’t No Rockin’ Chairs Here, Baby!” events, held across the parish over the next two weeks, aim to uplift and improve the quality of life for our senior population. The sessions will feature presentations by Acadian Ambulance, local fire departments, Southeast Legal Services, Tangipahoa Voluntary Council On Aging (TVCOA) and special guests Carolyn Johnson and Ruth Crockett from AARP who will talk about Downsizing and Decluttering.
All workshops run from 9:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m.
Dates and Locations are as follows: Wed. Nov. 13, First United Methodist Church, 201 Pine St, Ponchatoula; Thu. Nov. 14, Cornerstone of Amite Church, 108 Campo Ln, Amite; Wed. Nov. 20, Independence City Hall, 583 W Railroad Ave, Independence; and Thu. Nov. 21, Woodland Park Baptist Church, 1909 J.W. Davis, Hammond.
