The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) needs the public’s assistance with a shooting investigation that occurred on I-12 at the end of last week.
On Friday, August 30 around 4 a.m., a St. Tammany Parish man was driving westbound on I-12 between the Pumpkin Center exit and the DPS Weight Station exit when he reported hearing three shots followed by the sliding glass of his pickup truck’s rear windshield shattering and feeling numbness in his right arm. When the victim realized he had been shot, he reported looking in his rearview mirror to see a vehicle exiting at Pumpkin Center. The victim continued driving into Livingston Parish where he pulled into a gas station to contact the authorities. The man was treated and released from an area hospital that same day.
Sheriff Gerald Sticker encourages anyone with information, pictures and/or video of vehicles in the Pumpkin Center area on the day and timeframe of this incident to contact the Criminal Investigations Office at 985-748-3337.
