The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) is announcing the scheduling of a public hearing/meeting to discuss one of its existing funding sources.
The public hearing, scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the TPSO Substation located at 15475 Club Deluxe Road, Hammond, LA 70403, will focus on the consideration of levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year’s maximum.
The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in the next year from the increased millage is $13,650,480.43 and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $499,642.99.
The current FY-25 budget of the TPSO is $25,402,459. This increase will help maintain the status quo of the agency to keep up with the rising cost of living and operating expenses.
