Detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Major Crime Unit are investigating after a juvenile was accidentally shot Tuesday (July 16) evening at a residence in the Goodbee area.
Shortly after 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, STPSO deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Eagle Landing Drive in reference to a 15 YO female who had been shot while sitting in the living room of the home. A male relative at the home told detectives he was handling a firearm in another room of the house, when the gun accidentally fired and the bullet traveled through a wall and struck the girl.
She was airlifted by emergency medical personnel to an area hospital.
The incident is still under investigation and no additional information is available at this time.
