Yesterday Slidell Police posted an update on Grayson Manning, the 12 YO who was critically injured after a tragic Father’s Day accident.
The update was provided by Grayson’s father and mother. They said they cannot thank the Slidell Police Department and Fire Department for the quick response to save their son’s life, as well as Slidell Memorial Hospital and Children’s Hospital New Orleans.
After the accident he was rushed to Slidell Memorial Hospital where they intubated him prior to taking him to Children’s Hospital in New Orleans. Grayson had 3 emergency surgeries that according to doctors went well. One to implant something to keep the fluid and swelling in the brain down, one to repair the face and skull injuries, and one to save functioning in his eye. He had an MRI scheduled to assess spinal injuries. He will have reconstructive jaw surgery and orthopedic surgery on his pelvis scheduled for later this week. Once that is complete they will attempt to remove the breathing tube.
As of yesterday he was listed in stable condition in the PICU at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans.
