Yesterday Ponchatoula Police Chief Bry Layrisson said with an extremely heavy heart that he reported the passing of Corporal Priscilla Dean Pierson.
She passed away Tuesday morning.
At approximately 10:00 am, the department received a call from a concerned citizen at Rouses Supermarket regarding an unresponsive officer. The police and fire departments responded and located Pierson. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Office were requested to assist the police department. Upon arrival, the Coroner’s Office determined that Pierson was deceased.
The cause of death was unknown at the time.
Layrisson said Cpl. Pierson bravely served the department for six years, beginning her career as a part-time communications officer before earning her current position as a Cpl. in the patrol division. She leaves her husband, Larry Pierson, three children, and two step-children behind. Captain Larry Pierson served the citizens of Ponchatoula for over twenty-five years.
Layrisson asked that everyone continue praying for Pricillia’s family, Larry, and her friends and co-workers.
