The Causeway was closed after two people were injured in an accident on the Southbound bridge Saturday evening.
The accident caused the Causeway to close around 6:49 p.m., when an alert was sent by the Greater New Orleans Expressway Commission.
Causeway police were chasing a car Northbound going 104 mph when the driver turned around in one of the crossovers and hit a car with two people inside, according to Causeway officials.
Emergency personnel had to cut the doors off the car in order to save the two victims.
Officials said EMS was on the scene and the victims were taken to a nearby hospital with non-fatal injuries.
