21st Judicial DA Scott Perrilloux reports that 22 YO Trevor Horton of Greensburg pleaded no contest to one count of third-degree rape.
The case stems from a 2021 complaint filed with the St. Helena Sheriff’s Office, accusing a then-19 YO Trevor Horton of rape of a 12-year-old victim.
Prosecutors say evidence collected from the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab revealed the presence of Horton’s DNA on the fitted sheets from the child’s bed in numerous places.
The victim’s mother and family friend were present during the defendant’s plea.
Horton was sentenced to 22 years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with four years of the sentence suspended.
