The office of U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. will host a Passport Acceptance Event in Metairie, April 8, 2024, for constituents needing to file first-time or renewal applications for passports.
Cassidy’s office will co-host the event with the New Orleans Passport Center, which is run by the U.S. Department of State.
Although Cassidy will not attend, members of his staff and employees of the New Orleans Passport Center will be on hand to help constituents.
The event will be from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM CT at the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce at 3421 N. Causeway Blvd., Ste. 203 in Metairie.
Before attending the event, constituents should visit the Department of State’s website to complete their webform to either apply for a passport, renew their passport, or make name changes and other corrections. Constituents can do so by visiting here and then clicking “Submit” under “Fill Out Online and Print” to start the process, after acknowledging State’s notices and disclaimers on the first page. After completion, a form with the constituent’s information will be available to print and take to the event.
Constituents must also have proof of U.S. citizenship, ID, and a photograph for their passport. They should also be prepared to pay the required fees to process their application, either via check or money order.
