
Southeastern recently hosted the 41st annual Foreign Language Festival on campus.
The festival drew schools from Natchitoches, Orleans, St. Charles, St. Landry, St. Tammany and Tangipahoa parishes that brought nearly 150 students to compete in Spanish and French recitation, oral interview, music and extemporaneous speaking categories.
Local individual winners, listed by parish and school, were: Archbishop Hannan High School – First Place: Lolo Loris, French Recitation II; Noora Abi Rafeh, French Extemporaneous Speaking II; Isabella Hymel, Spanish Recitation II. Second Place: Katharine Strecker, Spanish Recitation I. Third Place: Andrew Cosentino, French Extemporaneous Speaking I; Hailey Guerrero, Spanish Recitation III; Mia Sheets, Spanish Recitation, Native Speaker; Genevieve Nicaud, Spanish Extemporaneous Speaking I; Katherine Thompson, Spanish Extemporaneous Speaking II. St. Thomas Aquinas –Third Place: Reese Fitzhugh, Spanish Extemporaneous Speaking IV; and Emily Jiménez, Spanish Recitation IV.
