Leadership Slidell says applications for Hometown Heroes are now being accepted. Applications are on a first come, first basis.
Applications to honor local veterans and active duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces with a Hometown Hero Banner are now available.
The cost for each banner is $135.88, which includes one double-sided color 30×60 banner, installation, bumper sticker, and 11×17 print of the banner for each approved Hometown Hero. Banners will be returned at our banner ceremony in early 2025.
There is limited space available, and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Forty (40) poles along Front Street in Slidell have been designated to display the banners and brackets to hang the banners that have been purchased. The first 40 applications received, vetted, and paid will receive a space in the inaugural Hometown Heroes Banner Program. After the first 40 spots have been filled, applicants will be notified that they will need to reapply the following year.
