School Superintendent Melissa Stilley says Tangipahoa Parish School Board members are doing their part to “Elevate Your Impact” in 2024.
In keeping with the district’s theme for the 2023-2024 academic year, Board members were recently recognized for exceeding the state’s minimum requirements for continuing education. Stilley said board members are required to receive a minimum of six CLU hours each year of their term. Stilley said board members went above and beyond the call of service, and in some cases, earned more than eight times the CLU hours that are required.
Stilley presented certificates to the board members as follows: Trent Anthony, 20.5 hours of CLU in 2023; Robin Abrams, 11 hours of credit; Rose Dominguez, 49.5 CLUs; Brett Duncan, 7 hours of credit; Jerry Moore, 20.5 CLUs; Joey Piazza, 21.5 CLU hours; Janice Richards, 36 hours of credit; Tom Tolar, 8.5 hours credit; and Glenn Westmoreland, 14.4 hours.
In addition to receiving their CLU hours, Anthony, Dominguez, Moore, Piazza, and Richards were presented certificates for becoming Certified Board members in 2023. To earn this certification, board members voluntarily earn 20 or more Louisiana School Board Association-approved training hours during a calendar year.
