The Kiwanis Club of Ponchatoula says their club has recently been made aware of the increasing number of displaced individuals in the community and they want to help.
So, they have partnered with the Ponchatoula Police Department and will be providing care packages that they can keep in their units and give to individuals when they come in contact with them throughout their workday.
The club will be purchasing drawstring bags that they will fill with useful items and the supply of bags will be replenished at the police station year-round as needed.
If anyone would like to help, you may drop off any of the items below to Shelley at Jackson Vaughan Agency or Amanda at Elite Designs (both businesses are in Ponchatoula) or give them to any Kiwanis member: Soap/bodywash, Body wipes (flushable), Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Deodorant, Hand sanitizer, Socks (men/women), and small gift cards for local restaurants.
