Shortly before midnight on Tuesday, February 20, Slidell Police responded to the report of a robbery at Taco Bell.
In most robbery cases, the suspect will hide their identity and rob the intended business where nobody knows who they are. In this case, the suspect was an employee, who was in the middle of his shift, when he decided robbing the store was a great idea.
The suspect, 40 YO Steve Douglas of Slidell, was working at Taco Bell when he decided to rob the business before leaving for the night. As his fellow employees prepared to count the registers, Mr. Douglas implied he had a weapon and demanded the money from several registers. After getting a few dollars, Mr. Douglas taunted his fellow employees to call the police and left the store.
Mr. Douglas has a felony warrant for First Degree Robbery. If anyone has information about Mr. Douglas, you are asked to call Slidell Police at 985-643-3131 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111. You can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
